Blue Ridge Italian Greyhounds has been breeding puppies for over 7 years. We are known for providing the most loving puppies that are healthy, are genetically free from defect, and possess wonderful temperaments. Because of our genuine concern and dedication to these adorable dogs, we offer lifetime support to our friends who adopt them.
Our puppies are raised inside our house with us. No outside kennels or facilities. We ONLY breed Italian Greyhounds and handle the puppies from day one to ensure they are very well socialized and loved beyond measure. Our eight-acre home, located in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Salem, Virginia, provides the perfect environment for these active dogs to grow, learn and play. On cooler days, they are often found cuddling in front of the cozy fire or sunbathing near our giant sliding doors. Of course, there is never a shortage of blankets for them to find and burrow themselves in.
Our Italian Greyhounds are bred to meet AKC standards and are VGL tested. Whether you are planning to show, race or just enjoy a wonderful pet, you will be provided with the best quality puppy. We are also excited to have begun importing European lines into our program. This allows us to diversify our lines and continue to provide the highest quality Italian Greyhound available.
Italian Greyhounds
Italian Greyhounds are intelligent, sleek, elegant sight-hounds that will capture your heart with their loving demeanor and quirky attitude. These dogs are relatively small in stature but large in personality. The standard height is between 13 – 15 inches. The average weight ranges between 7 – 14 pounds. If cared for properly, they can be expected to live up to 15-years-old. The breed comes in a variety of colors with blue and seal being two of most sought after. They thrive best in homes with fenced-in yards, but they can adapt well to apartment or condo living. Known for their fast speed and agility, Italian Greyhounds love to play and run. The Italian Greyhound can be trusted with any age children in your home. They bond easily with other dogs and most often are very well matched with existing cat owner households.

One of the most loving breeds, Italian Greyhounds are known to have a gentle personality. They love to shower affection on their family members, but sometimes tend to shy away from strangers. They love to snuggle and will be your constant companion. Italian Greyhounds certainly take no time to find their way into your heart.
Easy to Care For
Italian Greyhounds are hypo-allergenic, which means no dander. Because of the minimal hair on their bodies, there is very little shedding. They also require minimal grooming and typically don’t need eye or ear cleaning. The only things recommended is nail trimming and dental cleaning, with baths as needed.
